About Us

Collegiate Entrepreneurs

We are a non-profit organization of Radford University college students. We engage our members to discuss how to start a business with the local businesses. Networking is by far the most important key to becoming successful, and it is so underappreciated by many start-ups. We bring in speakers from around the United States to talk about their experiences and what they did to get their business to the next level. Our members get special access to our knowledgebase. The knowledgebase consists of online articles, magazines, books, videos, audio files, and more. The knowledgebase was built ontop of all of the information that both student and non-student business owners have submitted, professor submitted information, and information that some of our members have collected from the start-up process.

Our Vision

The purpose of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit in students.  The club is for like minded, enterprising, industrious students of varying majors to meet, brainstorm ideas, help each other, host and attend business seminars, and foster the entrepreneurial way at Radford University.  The club gives students real world business experience while applying and expanding key concepts that are learned in class.

The entrepreneur in us sees opportunities everywhere we look, but many people see only problems everywhere they look. The entrepreneur in us is more concerned with discriminating between opportunities than they are with failing to see the opportunities.

Our history

Collegiate Entrepreneurs has been around for 5 years, and we have had 10 students who have started up their own business. We have always had trouble sustaining members, but we are rethinking about how things are being done. We have hosted 2 elevator pitches in 2007 and 2008, and we plan on continuing the tradition; in the hopes that we inspire more people to want to share their idea. We are planning on growing our membership by 200%, and we plan on keeping the members involved with projects and networking events throughout the school year.
